LES MAINGYS SCOUT CAMPSITE, GUERNSEY
We are planning to go to Guernsey for next year’s Scout Summer Camp. Our Group has held regular camps at this site since 1980, the last was in 2016. Scouts have always rated the camps in Guernsey as the best camps they have attended as it provides a unique environment.
We would camp at Les Maingys Scout Campsite in the north west of the island. The site itself has several camping fields, together with a shower block and sports hall, and is well situated close to the coast.
We will use a standing camp which comes complete with a large mess tent and separate kitchen tent.
There are various on-site activities including canoeing, archery, climbing high ropes and hatchet throwing etc, although we normally undertake a completely different “sea-side” type camp programme. BBQ’s on beaches and crab catching etc! The Island has great sandy bea...
